Queer Crayon Club is a grassroots initiative dedicated to creating inclusive, art-centered spaces for LGBTQIA+ adults in the DMV area. Our mission is to foster community through creativity, offering a welcoming environment where individuals can express themselves freely and build meaningful connections.
We believe in the power of art to bring people together and provide solace. Whether you're an experienced artist or just looking to doodle and unwind, we are a space for you.
Jada (they/them) is a black and trans community builder and lifelong doodler based in Northern Virginia after relocating from Philadelphia. They started Queer Crayon Club because they wanted a space where LGBTQIA+ adults (especially introverts, neurodivergent folks, and those burned out on loud, high-energy environments) could connect through creativity without pressure or expectations.
This project grew from a simple idea: what if building community could feel more like coloring in a cozy corner, and what if Virginia folks didn't have to cross the river?
With a background in social work, I believe in the power of gentle connection, joyful expression, and quiet resistance. QCC is built for anyone who’s ever wanted a softer way to meet people and a safe, welcoming place to be yourself.
Outside of coloring, you can usually find me building other projects, doomscrolling social media, and making a lot of matcha lattes.
Thanks for being here! You belong in this crayon box.
